The Ireland national team players intend to wear black armbands to honor the victims of the conflict in Gaza, during their match against Israel, tomorrow, Sunday, in the UEFA Nations League, according to what was announced by the CEO of the Irish Football Association, David Correll.

Coryell explained that the team decided to play the game after a vote among its members was decided by a majority, while goalkeeper Gavin Bazono withdrew from the roster for the clash to be played outside Ireland in the Hungarian city of Dratzen.

He confirmed that the players intend to take other initiatives during the first clash, as well as in the second match against Israel scheduled for Sunday next week in Serbia, noting that the players have also asked not to speak to the media for the remainder of the current international break. Corral added that the Irish players will not participate in some of the preparatory ceremonies for the game, and noted that the team intends to make a large financial contribution from the proceeds of the games between Israel and Austria scheduled for next Thursday in Dublin, against the background of controversies that accompanied the confrontation with Israel and demands for the Irish team to withdraw in solidarity with Palestine.
