The trial of Canadian Kenneth Lau, accused of selling toxic substances over the Internet to people in several countries in order to help them end their lives, will resume on November 27, according to what the court investigating the case announced on Thursday, after hearing the testimony of dozens of relatives and friends of the victims.
Meetings were supposed to take place over a period of 4 days, from Wednesday to Monday, to hear the testimony of the families and friends of the victims, but the judge limited himself to two days.
During the meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, fathers, mothers, brothers and friends of dozens of victims expressed their inability to cope with the loss of their loved ones.
Kenneth Lau pleaded guilty in May to 14 counts of aiding or abetting the end of life, after he sold sodium nitrite to dozens of people over the Internet.
A hearing has been set for the end of November to hear the arguments of the prosecution and the defense, while the date for the verdict has not yet been set.
