The US State Department has asked diplomats in the Office of International Organizations to adopt the term "superintelligence" instead of "artificial intelligence" in all documents, positions and correspondence, following President Donald Trump's request in his speech to the UN General Assembly.
An email obtained by The Associated Press revealed that the office will use "SI," short for "Super Intelligence," instead of "AI," which stands for "artificial intelligence," in statements, correspondence and press materials from now on.
The directive came after Trump said on Tuesday that he would officially change the name of "artificial intelligence", citing that the current nomenclature makes the technology look "fake", and that US government documents would use the term "superintelligence".
