An official in the Iranian justice system announced on Tuesday that his country intends to put up for sale American and Israeli commercial ships it confiscated in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf region during the war, with their proceeds being allocated to "victims".

The Mizan Agency of the Iranian Judiciary quoted the head of the Judiciary's Lawyers Center, Hassan Abdelanipour, as saying that the ships were confiscated "according to judicial rulings, and the proceeds collected from their sale will be used to benefit individuals and families recently affected by the war."

In a related context, Abdulyanpour added that experts have begun investigating the damage caused by the American attacks in Hormuzgan province and its surrounding areas.
