Reuters cited two sources familiar with the matter on Monday as saying that US President Donald Trump's administration has prepared sanctions against the entire International Criminal Court and intends to announce them soon, in a move that will intensify its attack on the court that deals with war crimes and genocide around the world.

The Trump administration did not hide its hostility to the court and asked to undermine it, while American officials want the court to cancel the arrest warrants issued against Israeli leaders in connection with the genocidal war in Gaza, as well as a previous investigation of the American forces in Afghanistan.

In July, the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, announced a campaign to isolate the court, and called on other countries to withdraw from it, at the same time that Washington imposed sanctions on a number of judges and prosecutors of the court, but it has so far avoided imposing sanctions on the court itself, although this step has been on the agenda for some time. The Wall Street Journal quoted officials as saying that the decision to impose sanctions on the court could become final as early as this week during the UN General Assembly.
