Two oil tankers were damaged and caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz after being hit by sea mines. This was reported by the Iranian news agency in reference to the Revolutionary Guards. According to the IRGC statement, the two ships followed a route that was not agreed upon with Tehran. One of the tankers exploded in the eastern part of the strait, the other directly inside the water area. According to the Iranian side, the ships turned off their navigation and identification systems and tried to pass through the forbidden area with the support of the American military, after which they encountered mines and had to stop. The Revolutionary Guards also confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed and stated that the situation will not change until seven Iranian conditions previously proposed by the United States are met.
