Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the country's exit from the EAEU will be inevitable if it joins the European Union. According to him, Yerevan intends to submit an official application for membership in the European Union in 2027-2028. However, preparations for leaving the EAEU have not yet begun. Pashinyan explained that first it is necessary to hold a referendum. "We started preparing for the formation of an alternative, as we promised the people, so that they would have a choice. We do not intend to leave the EAEU, but colleagues from the Union are raising the issue of defining and holding a referendum. I have already said that in order to implement it, certain procedures need to be passed, and we are making progress towards that." In addition, Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia's interest in the CSTO has dried up.
