North Korea is building a new powerful warship that will have no analogues in the world, KCNA reports. Kim Jong Un visited a shipyard in Nampo, where he inspected the construction progress of a new warship. The North Korean leader was pleased with its scale, noting that the ship under construction is significantly superior to the destroyer launched last year. "This new ship will be built as a powerful combat system, with operational capability, from the planning stage, unmatched by any country in the world." Kim Jong Un also announced the accelerated development of ground forces and submarines as one of the most important areas for strengthening the country's defense capabilities. "Today, a complete renewal of the navy's combat capability stems from the creation of a new geopolitical situation and the need to only restrain with force nuclear blackmail and the threat of enemies in the region, which have a practical and serious effect on the security of the country." The DPRK intends to modernize its largest shipyards, automate production and expand capacity to simultaneously build and repair ships.
