In Germany, metal needles were found in candy that children collected for Halloween, Süddeutsche Zeitung reports.
According to the publication, dangerous discoveries were made in several localities of the country at once.
"In Filderstadt, two families discovered several needles in two milk bars their children brought after collecting candy. According to the police, the needles were not visible from the outside. Law enforcement authorities believe that an unknown person intentionally placed them inside the candy."
Similar cases were recorded in other cities in Germany. Thus, in Reilsingen-Worblingen, foreign metal objects were found in wafer snacks, each of which was individually packed.
In Eppenheim, a child discovered two magnets on a chewing gum, and in Winzingeruda, children found metal needles in several candies at the same time.
Police are now investigating and are asking parents to double-check any candy their children have brought home after Halloween.
