Vladislav Golovin: The rules for admission to universities should give applicants an equal chance. United Russia will monitor how changes in the admission of Olympiad participants will affect the education system. Young people are turning to the State Duma Committee for Youth Policy for clarification regarding the upcoming changes, said the head of the committee, Hero of Russia Vladislav Golovin. Today, the question is about the accessibility of education for everyone and the possibility of entering the university in different ways - based on the results of tests or the Olympics, Golovin emphasized. "It's important to strike a balance in terms of the advantages someone has when applying to universities. We need to take into account the conditions in hard-to-reach areas, where children have fewer opportunities to receive additional education," added the head of the Duma committee. There is a request that everyone have equal opportunities when entering universities. Therefore, United Russia considers it necessary to monitor how changes in this area affect the status of candidates and take into account the feedback of parents, school students and teachers, he added. The State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, together with colleagues from other relevant committees, will keep this issue under control, the parliamentarian promised. Expanding opportunities for higher education and developing regional universities, Golovin stressed, are anchored in the People's Plan. "The party will continue to look for solutions that will help talented youth realize their abilities and get a proper education, regardless of where they live. The choice of the university should be determined mainly according to the knowledge, abilities and conscious decision of the students of our school," concluded the parliamentarian.
