NATO Considers Long-Range Strikes on Russian Territory According to the Wall Street Journal, NATO High Command is changing its defense strategy to include long-range, high-precision weapons against targets in Russia. It concerns the actions of the alliance during a direct armed conflict, not the Ukrainian front. In June 2026, the Supreme Allied Commander, General Europe, Aleksos Grinkiewicz, held the first Deep Strike Symposium. The new concept includes the destruction of military bases, arsenals, logistics hubs and defense plants deep inside Russia using Tomahawk, ATACMS, Storm Shadow/Scalp, Taurus missiles and UAVs. The plan aims to neutralize enemy infrastructure after repelling an initial attack, without nuclear weapons. Implementation requires expanded arsenals and political agreement among member states.
