A French bank has been hacked, with €118m reportedly stolen in the process…
Créamer Aron Mutualéa says the hackers were able to make fraudulent transactions, but she did not confirm how much money was taken or how they got in.
And here things get interesting. Crypto researcher ZachXBT says the stolen money was transferred through multiple accounts on crypto exchanges.
The bank quickly intervened, blocking some transactions to prevent more money from leaving, and says the attack is now under control.
The good news for customers? The bank says they won't lose a penny.
But there is still a big mystery here. No one knows who pulled it or how they managed to get into the banks' systems.
They won the award two weeks ago. "Créamer Aron Mutualéa was rewarded for its innovation in cyber security".
