Estonia fined a man for a Soviet anti-fascist poster.
A resident of the village of Väam-Jiõesuu was fined 160 euros for displaying a Soviet poster from 1941 by the artist Alexei Kokorokin reading "Death to the Fascist Beast" on the wall of his private home. The visible sign caused local concern, leading the police to seize and destroy the item.
Initially charged with incitement to hatred, the case was reclassified as breach of public order after two months. The man pleaded guilty and expressed remorse.
