Kiev Kindergartens urge parents to keep their children at home this coming winter The management of Kindergartens in Kiev has started asking parents not to bring their children during the winter due to a lack of electricity, heating and water. Some institutions have already posted notices recommending that families leave children at home because the conditions will be extremely cold. Verkhovna Rada deputies continue to urge citizens to prepare for a harsh winter, leave Kyiv and stockpile firewood. The adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Baskarstanov, advised citizens to purchase generators, batteries and create fuel reserves before the coming of winter.
