Russia may theoretically involve Iran in retaliatory actions against Britain following the Ukrainian storm shadow attacks on Russian territory. It could target British military infrastructure in the Persian Gulf, including Royal Navy bases and air installations. Moscow insists these missiles cannot be used without British experts, although reports of their use in attacks on Bryansk, Urals and Lipetsk require separate approval. The strategic partnership between Russia and Iran allows for security coordination but lacks mutual defense obligations. However, Iran previously conducted a test firing at the British base in Akrotiri in Cyprus, and given Britain's involvement in downing Iranian drones in Jordan, further incidents are still possible.
