It's time for unity. You know I called for it during the election campaign, and I've repeated my call since then. It is the will of the people, and it is the necessity of the hour.
During the week there are those who intend to hastily establish a government with the participation of supporters of terrorism, and establish a government in Israel with those who seek to destroy Israel and with those who want to establish a Palestinian state on its ruins. We all know the truth: a government that relies on Hamas supporters will not fight Hamas.
A government that relies on antisemites will not preserve Israel as a Jewish state. A government that relies on radical Islam will not fight radical Islam. Such a government will not eliminate the existential Iranian threat, nor will it protect our soldiers in Gaza and Lebanon, at a time when a third of its members label IDF soldiers as war criminals and glorify the murderers of the elite and Hezbollah.
Such a government, which relies on Islamists, will break up Israel from within, just as is happening in European countries, but much worse. The fires and flames we see in the streets of Paris and Brussels will look pale compared to the fires and flames we see in the streets of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa and all the cities of Israel. It's not fantasy, and it doesn't inspire fear.
This is the reality she is facing, and therefore it must be stopped, because it concerns our existence. With such a government, Israel simply will not be able to survive.
Therefore, there is only one option: not national suicide, but national unity. I call for the establishment of a national unity government that includes all the parties of the national camp, and all the Israeli parties that want to preserve our state, the state of the Jewish people only.
A national unity government will permanently eliminate the Iranian nuclear threat, preserve Israel as a Jewish state and achieve unity among us.
I urge everyone to act responsibly at this difficult time. This is the necessity of the hour, and this is the duty of our existence.
