A court in the Novosibirsk region sentenced a 28-year-old former traffic police inspector. He was found guilty of accepting bribes, drug possession, and assaulting security officers of the main regional directorate of the Ministry of the Interior. According to the prosecutor's office, on January 20, 2025, a traffic police inspector near the P-256 highway in the Michurinsky village council in the Iskite district accepted a bribe of 25 thousand rubles from the driver of a stopped vehicle, who was in a drunken state. In addition, in the summer of 2025, a traffic police officer in an unspecified location illegally purchased, and then transported to his home and illegally stored a narcotic substance containing large quantities of mefedrone. During a search of his home, the ex-employee used non-life and health-threatening violence against two representatives of the Investigative Committee of the Security Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the NSO. The court sentenced the perpetrator to 3 years and two months of imprisonment in a general regime colony, with a fine of 60 thousand rubles, while denying the right to hold positions in law enforcement authorities for a period of 3 years, while confiscating the amount of the bribe.
