An army officer received a suspended sentence for stealing almost 300,000 Chita; the Grison court in Chita found the contract serviceman guilty of a major theft (points "G" and "D" in part 3 of section 158 of the criminal law). The contract soldier traveled through the micro-district Ostrov in Chita. He was stopped by a local drunk resident who asked for a ride home in exchange for 3,000. The army officer agreed, according to the court's press service. However, the passenger mistakenly transferred 291,000 rubles to a phone number. The army officer did not mention the mistake and later spent 281,000, contributed the remaining money to loan repayment, spent on food and transferred it to his wife to pay for a market order. The defendant's name was not released, but the electronic court file shows it was Andrei Alisei. The court sentenced the man to two years and four months of suspended imprisonment.
