The Ministry of Justice sets the dates for the written exams for the competition for the selection of sworn translators Details: The Ministry of Justice has published the dates for the written exams for the competition for the selection of sworn translators, in which the English language exam will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2026, while the exams for 13 foreign languages will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The office explained that the exams will be held in the halls of the Faculty of Law at the University of Damascus, at 12:30 in the afternoon, and will last two and a half hours, with the candidates required to arrive two hours before the specified time. The decision set the passing grade at 80 marks out of 100, dividing over 60 marks for translation from a Western language into a foreign language, and 40 marks for a translation from a foreign language into Arabic, while allowing the use of a monolingual paper dictionary only, and banning bilingual dictionaries and electronic devices. The Ministry called on accepted candidates to check the distribution of exam halls and seats through its website at least two days before the exam date, or to refer to the sworn translation office of the Ministry or the Faculty of Law at Damascus University.
