Exclusive: Syria Airlines will operate direct flights to Munich starting November 12 Details: The head of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport, Omar Al-Khosuri, announced the launch of direct and regular flights by Syria Airlines to the German city of Munich, starting November 12, 2026, in addition to its flights to Berlin. Al-Husari confirmed that the launch of flights to Munich is another step to expand the presence of the national company in the German market, and to improve direct air connectivity between Syria and Europe. Al-Khosuri explained that air traffic between Syria and Germany is not limited to the flights of the national airline, as other Syrian and German airlines operate flights from various German airports, which expands travel options, facilitates the movement of members of the Syrian community and reduces dependence on transit flights through intermediate fields. Al-Khosuri noted that the Authority is currently working on completing the regulatory procedures to grant permission to a new German airline to operate to Syria, from additional German airports, which enables the expansion of air connectivity to include most of the major airports in Germany. Al-Khosuri said that the authority is pursuing a policy based on the diversification of air carriers and the expansion of the points of activity, at the same time as supporting the presence of the national carrier, in a way that increases competition, raises the level of services and provides wider options for passengers, as part of an integrated plan to reconnect Syria to the international air transportation network.
