Opening of the Prosthetics Department at the Qamishli National Hospital after restoration and expansion Details: The Ministry of Health opened the Prosthetics Department at the Qamishli National Hospital in Al-Hasakah after restoration and expanded it with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The project aims to increase the medical and rehabilitation services provided to the victims, and to expand the scope of their beneficiaries to include additional areas. The section is the first of its kind in Al-Hasakah. It provides manufacturing and installation services for lower prosthetic limbs, and rehabilitation and optimal training for their use. Al-Hasqa Health Director, Dr. Khaled Al-Khaled, explained that the department currently supplies about 40 lower prosthetic limbs per month, while working to increase its production capacity to reach between 60 and 80 limbs per month. Services provided for below-knee and above-knee amputations include taking measurements, securing and fitting limbs, and implementing special training and rehabilitation programs to help patients use them effectively.
