The Syrian Network for Human Rights condemns the killing of a citizen with a disability who was shot by the Israeli occupation in Daraa Details: The Syrian Network for Human Rights condemned the killing of the citizen Moez Salama al-Bair, a disabled person with Down syndrome, after he was shot by Israeli forces during a ground invasion of the village of Jamla in the western countryside of Daraa. The network explained that the Israeli forces entered the village on Thursday 10/22 at dawn, accompanied by 12 military vehicles and deployed in the village, and shot a daring young man for not responding to orders to stop due to his health condition, and confirmed that he was an unarmed civilian who did not pose any threat. The network refuted the IDF's claims of opening fire to remove a threat after suspecting a person, considering the fact that this story requires an independent and effective investigation to determine the circumstances of the use of lethal force and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. Israeli forces moved the victim after he was wounded, and his body was later found near one of their concentration points. He was transferred to his family through Daraa National Hospital, with the participation of UNDOF forces and the Syrian Civil Defense, before his burial in his village. The network warned against continued Israeli incursions into Syrian territory, pointing out the danger of placing snipers on residential roofs, and emphasizing that the incident raises serious concerns about a flagrant violation of the right to life.
