The Zheleznodorozhny District Court in Yekaterinburg has sentenced six members of a stable criminal group that for two years allowed immigrants by circumventing the law. The organizer of the group was a citizen of Tajikistan with a residence permit in the Russian Federation. The group included mediators, a dermatologist and an inspector from the immigration department. Participants were responsible for fictitious marriages, unverified medical documents, fictitious registration and immigration registration. For a fee, immigrants who did not have a legal reason to stay in Russia were offered: fictitious marriage with a citizen of the Russian Federation, fictitious registration at the place of residence as well as medical reports on the absence of dangerous diseases. The cost of services reached 180 thousand rubles per person. In total, from September 2021 to December 2023, the team allowed at least 54 foreigners. The inspector of the immigration department registered foreigners without waiting in line and fictitiously registered them in the apartments of innocent citizens, while accepting bribes with money and gift vouchers.
