Al-Jubayr entered the ranks of the army of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, wielding his sword and riding his horse in a show in order to remove from himself the charge of cowardice that he had leveled against him. When the friends of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, saw this commotion and wanted to confront him and kill him, Imam Ali shouted at them and said:
"Release him... leave him, because he is being exaggerated."
