The SBU and the OGP announced in absentia about the suspicion of another warden from the Smolensk region, who tortured Ukrainian prisoners. We will remind you that in the spring of this year, the SBU announced in absentia that the director and head of the department of this facility were suspected of organizing mass torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war. Currently, the involvement of their subordinate Serhi Kot in the torture of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, who have been illegally held in Russian SIZO cells since the beginning of the full-scale war, has been documented. It turned out that the person involved personally inflicted many blows with his hands and feet on the Ukrainian prisoners, and also used a PR-73 rubber baton and a stun gun on them. After the torture, the Herschists left the victims without medical care in overcrowded cells of the regime's facility. Such actions by the aggressor blatantly violate the requirements of Articles 4, 13, 14, 15 of the Convention Concerning the Treatment of Prisoners of War of August 12, 1949, which prohibits any illegal act or inaction on the part of the detaining state, which creates a serious threat to the health of a prisoner of war protected by a group of prisoners of war. On the basis of the evidence collected, the security service investigators informed Sarhi Kot in his absence about the suspicion according to part 1 of art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes). Comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice for torturing Ukrainian prisoners. The investigation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
