According to the SBU, the FSB agent who planned to blow up the power plant in Kropyvnytskyi will spend 15 years behind bars. According to the evidence base of counterintelligence and security service investigators, a Russian agent who was arrested by the SBU in March this year while preparing to sabotage Krupivnitsky was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. As emerged from the investigation, the intruder on the orders of the FSB tried to blow up one of the central power stations in order to neutralize most of the strategic and social facilities in the city. To commit the crime, he had to take an improvised explosive device based on 300 grams of plastid from the cache and place it near the transformers of the electrical installation. After the "report" of explosives being planted, the Russian special services planned to activate it remotely. The SBU officers worked ahead of time and caught the agent red-handed near the regional center when he took the bomb from the hiding place. According to the file, the enemy mission was carried out by a local unemployed man recruited by the FSB. He came to the attention of the traders through Telegram channels in search of "easy" profits. After the recruitment, the traitor received from the treasury of the Russian Federation the geographical location of the cache, from where he was supposed to take the "package" and deliver it to the place of the planned sabotage. It turned out that the agent was going to transport explosives in a taxi in the dark to replace an electrical substation. During the searches, explosive devices and 3 mobile phones were seized from him, which he used alternately for conspiratorial communication with the FSB. According to the materials of the Security Service, the court found the agent guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 Art. 111 (treason committed according to military law); Part 1 Art. 263 (unlawful handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). The investigation was conducted by SBU employees in the Kirovohrad region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
