The SBU detained the coordinator of the Russian attacks on the thermal power plant in Kiev. The counterintelligence of the Security Service arrested another Russian agent in the Kiev region. It turned out that he was a driver for a logistics company, which on the orders of the FSB fixed strikes at local energy facilities. Among the main "targets" of the enemy were the thermal power plants of the capital region, which resumed their work after previous shelling. In order to find out the current state of the energy infrastructure, the person involved, under the guise of business trips, walked around the stations and recorded their facades with a phone camera. Then he would return home, summarize the captured files, "tie" them to coordinates on Google Maps and with his own comments prepare them to be sent to the Treasury from the FSB. SBU employees documented how an agent driving a truck was inspecting the state of restoration work at a power unit of a local thermal power plant, and stopped him while preparing a "report" for the enemy. As the investigation revealed, the person involved came to the attention of racists when he posted anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram channels. After being recruited, he contacted the FSB through a specially created chatbot used by the Russian intelligence service to gather intelligence. In addition to matching strikes on energy facilities, the agent oversaw the locations of Defense Forces repair bases for the Russian Federation. During the search, two mobile phones were seized from the detainee, one of which he tried to destroy in order to hide evidence of extortion. Security Service investigators informed him of the suspicion according to Part 2 of A. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). The offender is in custody without bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. Complex measures were carried out by employees of the main directorate of the SBU in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office.
