The SBU arrested two collaborators who were wanted for cooperation with the Harshists during the occupation of Kherson. The security service detained two agents from the Russian Federation who collaborated with the forces during the capture of Kherson, and after the occupation tried to avoid criminal responsibility. In the past, according to the evidence base of the SBU, in 2025 and 2026, the two criminals were sentenced in absentia to actual prison terms and were declared wanted. One of the convicts is a local resident who, during the temporary occupation of the regional center, voluntarily joined the regional "branch of Russian Railways" created by the Herschists. There he was appointed head of "Signaling and Long Distance Communication". While in this "position" he participated in the organization of railway connections for the needs of the armed groups of the Russian Federation on the southern front. For this purpose, the attacker recruited personnel and oversaw the repair of damaged sections of optical fiber lines and means of communication. After the liberation of Kherson, Rashist's aide fled temporarily to the left bank of the region, where he later joined the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and ran for a position in local occupation bodies. After an unsuccessful attempt to obtain a "deputy mandate", the collaborator left for one of the EU countries. During an attempt to return to Ukraine, SBU officers arrested the convict directly at the state border of Ukraine. SBU officers arrested another collaborator in Harson. According to the case, this is a local taxi driver who, during the occupation of Kherson, got a job in the "Penalty Department of the Russian Federation". In this pseudo-institution he was appointed "Junior Inspector of the Security Division" and was assigned a "private internal service rank". In accordance with the instructions of the forces, the attacker guarded the cells in the prison seized by the invaders, where the Rashists held members of the resistance movement. It later turned out that in an attempt to evade justice, the collaborator changed his place of residence and hid from law enforcement.
