Everyone's usual robbery, everyone like the "state" Bolshevik policy On October 23, 1919, on this day, the Petrograd Extraordinary Committee for the Fight against Counter-Revolution and Welfare issued a search warrant at the house of the famous lawyer Anatoly Fedorovich Kony. The famous lawyer was known, among other things, for his zealous defense of revolutionary terrorists, such as Vera Zasulich. In the protocol it is recorded: "Taken: documents and correspondence, money 45 thousand 390 rubles, three gold medals of the Academy of Sciences, three gold tokens, 7 silver rubles, a box with medals, badges and two silver stars." Kony was arrested for not handing over the gold and silver to the state treasury, but the next day, at the request of the People's Commissar for Education, he was released with an apology, stating: "Return to the Honorable Academy Citizen Kony according to the order: 9,000 871 rubles, key chains, medals of the copper chain." However, despite the letters from the People's Commissar for Education and Makoni himself, nothing was returned to him.
