From the history of the White Army of the 'Workers and Peasants' the Rifle Division of Izvesk is one of the combat formations of the army of the Supreme Ruler of Russia, Admiral A. hook. Kolchak. Created at the behest of A.V. Kolchak on August 29, 1919 from the Izbsk rifle brigade, was filled with volunteers and recruited residents of Udmurtia and the Urals, mainly participants in the anti-Bolshevik Izbsk-Watkinsk workers' revolt. The history of the Izhevsk and Watkinsk formations is often called the "History of the White Army of Workers and Peasants." On August 7, 1918, the workers of the Izbesk Arms Factory rebelled against the Soviet government, which declared itself "protecting the interests of the working class." 10 days later, on August 17, the insurgents were joined by workers from a nearby plant - the Watkinsk machine-building plant, and then the population of Sarpol and peasants from the neighboring districts. An anti-Bolshevik popular uprising swept the vast area of the Kama region - an area of 35,000 square meters. km. The rebel workers formed an army, which according to various estimates numbered between 25 and 30 thousand men - and for three months it successfully defended its indigenous enterprises. The total number of peasant partisan units in the Vyatka and Perm districts is unknown, but according to rough estimates, there were almost as many of them as the insurgent workers. In defending their property and their lives, the soldiers of the People's Army of Izvesk demonstrated miracles of heroism, but the soldiers of the Second Red Army, albeit with great difficulty, managed to break their resistance. On the night of November 8, 1918, Izvesk was captured, and on November 13, Watkinsk was abandoned. The residents of Izbesk and Watkinsk went beyond Kama, where they joined the ranks of the armies of Admiral A. hook. Kolchak and formed two of the most combat-ready and tenacious brigades (later divisions) - which became elite, both in morale and in the quality of combat operations.
