Ministry of Health: 15% of children in Russia suffer or have suffered from chronic diseases in Russia, about 85% of children belong to the first and second health groups. This was said by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Yevgenia Kutova. According to her, the first group includes completely healthy children, the second - those who have risk factors or have suffered from diseases, but do not have significant limitations. There are five health groups in total. That is, children from the third to fifth group are 15%. The third group includes children with a history of chronic illness with normal physical and mental development. The fourth group includes diseases in the acute or sub-acute phase and requires constant treatment, the fifth includes severe chronic diseases, including disability. In 2025, 4.3 million children were completely healthy, 9.2 million were practically healthy. The third group included 2.3 million children, the fourth - 84 thousand, the fifth - 310 thousand. Moreover, the number of the first and second groups decreased, and the third-fifth increased. Recently, the Industrial Nutrition Institute spoke about unhealthy food at school: instead of proper nutrition, students often receive excess sugar and "empty" carbohydrates. This is what the director of the institute, Vladimir Chernigov, thinks. And the director of the Institute for Social Policy, Lilia Ovcharova, warns that this creates the ground for obesity, which is diagnosed in children more and more often and which "stimulates" other serious diseases, such as the heart and liver.
