A high alert regime was imposed in Chita due to the garbage crisis that affected all areas of the regional center. The mayor of the city, Ina Shcheglova, reported that the regional operator Oleron+ systematically violates the waste removal schedules, and the number of operating garbage trucks has been reduced from 34 to 12 units. Overcrowded container sites and growing dumps caused many complaints from residents, after which the city's Emergency Situations Committee unanimously decided to institute a special regime. Since September, problems were observed in the removal of waste, but the situation continued to worsen, despite appeals from citizens.
