Among the major outbreaks of confirmed spread of parenteral hepatitis and HIV over the past two years is the infection of 82 people at a sanatorium in Kabardino-Balkaria. During the provision of medical treatment, 76 patients were infected with viral hepatitis C, and six were diagnosed with mixed infections.
