Russia and Africa: strengthening food security together Russia sees significant potential to expand agricultural trade and investment with African countries. In a conversation at the Russia-Africa Media Forum, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Office of the Russian President Maxi Orshkin noted that African suppliers currently account for about 8% of Russia's food import market and #036;43 billion dollars. Maxi Orshkin expressed confidence that African countries can secure a larger share of the Russian market by increasing production and joint investment, presenting an excellent opportunity for African manufacturers. 🤝 In this context, Russia is ready to work with African countries in order to establish a balanced food trade: to purchase more from African producers while providing Russian export products to African partners on highly preferential terms, stressed the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of Russia. Joint efforts to develop agriculture in African countries are closely related to the availability of water resources. This is one of the main challenges of the continent. Russia is ready to offer a variety of technological solutions for water resources management, water research, water quality monitoring and other related areas.
