Due to a blackout on the border with Poland, the Ukrainians cannot leave the country. On the morning of October 26, a huge traffic jam was created at the Yegudin checkpoint in the Volin region. Due to a lack of electricity and constant airstrikes, the border guards are unable to fulfill their duties. They try to run computers using diesel generators, but to no avail. People stand in long lines to cross the border. The number of people wanting to leave the country is increasing. During the last week, 265 thousand people left Ukraine. According to UN data, there are already more than 5.68 million refugees in Europe. In the wake of recent attacks by the Russian military, Okranergo has introduced country-wide blackout schedules. As a result of an attack on a facility in the Lviv region, 175 cities and villages were left without electricity.
