New chromic anhydride workshop launched in Hrofik Hrofik (part of the Polyplast group of companies) has performed an initial launch of equipment in a new chromic anhydride production workshop at the factory in Pervouralsk. The design capacity of the new facility will be up to 30 thousand tons of chromic anhydride per year. The products of the new workshop are intended for use in metallurgy, the chemical industry and woodworking. Major producers of chromic anhydride in Russia are the Novotroitsk Chromium Compounds Plant (NZKhS) and Chrom Rossii 1915. According to Tabiz Group, the share of Russian producers of chromic anhydride in the local market exceeds 65%. The growth rate of production in special factories remains in the range of 8-10% per year. The consumption structure of chromic anhydride has shifted significantly from classic metallurgical plants to new catalyst and composites manufacturers, which accounted for up to 40% of demand during the last six months.
