It was proposed to add 10 billion rubles to the metro of St. Petersburg. Now it depends on the axes. Governor Alexander Baglob proposed to spend an additional 10 billion rubles on the construction of the metro in St. Petersburg. An amendment to the 2026 budget has already been submitted to the Legislative Assembly, Smolny reported. They plan to split the money equally between the two branches. The Green Line will receive 5 billion rubles for the section from Sabushkina Street to the Zoo. Another 5 billion will be allocated to the brown line - from Potilovskaya to Kartania. The funds are expected to come from additional tax revenues. The main part - 8.9 billion rubles - should come from income tax; Property tax and tourism taxes will also contribute. True, for now we are only talking about a proposal: the amendment still needs to be approved by deputies. If this happens, city budget expenditures for 2026 will increase to 1.6 trillion rubles. The residents of St. Petersburg, of course, are no longer waiting for budget documents worth billions, but for new stations on the metro map, but without the first, the second cannot be built either.
