American comedian Michael Che mocked the voter turnout in the Israeli election during the "Weekend Update" segment on Saturday Night Live, stating: "A record number of people voted in the Israeli election, which is great to see regardless of whether you're on the right, the left, or the genocide."
The joke sparked an extensive debate across social networks regarding the limits of political satire when referring to the war and the genocide in Gaza.
