The detained soldier gave sensitive military information to the Iranian Shin Bet agency: according to their announcement regarding the soldier recruited by Iran. The investigation also shows that the soldier acted with full knowledge of the identity of his Iranian handlers, and that in exchange for the information he sent them, he received payments in cryptocurrency. Prosecutors say the soldier sent Iran official information about military bases and their coordinates, photographed interceptor planes, military vehicles and American refueling planes parked at an airport in Israel. The message also stated that the soldier "acted in an extremely dangerous manner and endangered those around him" by sending details of his friends and commanders to the Iranian official, "knowing that the official would seek to recruit them for espionage." The investigation also revealed that the soldier sent his Iranian therapist a Telegram group called "Kal Karab" (Easy in the Battle), dedicated to Israeli teenagers who are preparing. The therapist joined the group, according to the indictment. At one point, the Iranian official instructed the soldier to install "malicious communication applications for encrypted calls", and also offered him to buy a "simple" phone and a gun. The soldier and the Iranian official also agreed to use codes in their conversations, and "create a cover story in case it is discovered by security forces," according to the statement. Prosecutors also say the soldier was offered $200,000 to travel to Iran. A military court extended the soldiers' detention until November 12, although he is expected to remain in custody until the end of the legal proceedings.
