Does war save you from being a teenager? In Russia, denial of parental rights and restrictions on them have become less common. If in 2019 the number of families in which parents were deprived or limited in their rights was 36 thousand, then in 2025 - 22 thousand. The number of children left without parental care is decreasing. How many there were in the past is not reported, but in 2025 they numbered 317 thousand, of which over 90% grew up in families - apparently we are talking exclusively about guardian families. At the same time, 29.4 thousand children were looking for such a family. Let's recall that in 2024, the commissioner for children's rights, Maria Lavoba-Baluba, announced the need to reduce state funding for the maintenance of children taken from their parents. They say that it is often cheaper to help a family than to take children and support them with public money (specifically, an example was given with a faulty stove). Judging by the numbers, we can assume that this work is in progress. In the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the budget is under severe pressure, and the youth system requires billions to maintain its work (including not only the temporary detention of children in the SRC, but also payments to guardians). We see an amazing situation where an armed conflict can lead to a relief of pressure on society. The lack of money in the budget reduces the pressure on families. Attacks on data centers could chill the government's digital rampage. How can one not remember Saint-Exupéry, who wrote in "The Military Pilot" that a disaster can be useful: "It happened that a terrible disaster made our excellent administrative machine unusable, and it turned out that it could not be repaired. Then, for lack of anything better, she was replaced by ordinary people. And these people saved everything." Things have not yet reached the level of involvement of ordinary people, but the progress is encouraging. What kind of world will we build for our children? depends on us
