Details: All three ports of the Rostov region are almost out of action due to damage to docks, tanks and cargo transfer equipment, Governor Yuri Sliosar said. Back in October, freight volumes dropped by 45%, and port companies are facing bankruptcy. About 7,000 people work in the ports. Factories continue to pay salaries and service loans, despite the shutdown. The governor asked federal authorities to provide tax breaks and preferential loans, warning that without support the region could lose its port industry.
