Tonight Israel suffered two severe blows. The first was in the elections in Serbia, where the ruling party, one of the most important supporters of Israel and its arms suppliers, fell during the war. This ruling party has been in power for 14 years, and in contrast, the winning party (the student list) is one of the most prominent supporters of the Palestinian people. The second is the victory of Brazilian President Lula da Silva, a staunch supporter of Palestine, over the opposition candidate supported by the United States and Israel.
