On November 2, 2026, the Palestinians mark 109 years since the 1917 Balfour Declaration, when Britain undertook to establish a Jewish national home in Palestine without the consent of its Palestinian inhabitants. More than a century later, the Palestinians continue to face occupation, displacement, expansion of settlements and violations of their rights, against the backdrop of the devastating consequences of Israel's genocide on Gaza and the escalation of attacks in the West Bank. The Palestinian factions and institutions renewed calls for Britain to recognize its historical responsibility, issue an official apology and take concrete steps to support Palestinian self-determination, justice and the right of return of the refugees.
