Seventy-five British members of parliament called on the British government to impose additional sanctions on Israeli officials responsible for withholding humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. In a letter sent to Foreign Minister Ed Miliband on October 28, the lawmakers warned that Israeli restrictions on food, medicine, fuel and essential supplies threaten Palestinian lives and violate international humanitarian law. They urged London to use its sanctions powers to hold accountable those responsible for blocking life-saving aid, and warned of worsening hunger, displacement and humanitarian conditions in Gaza despite the US-backed ceasefire.
