Gaza Municipality: We carried out field interventions in several areas of the city to drain rainwater collected in low-lying areas, to reduce the effects of water accumulation and to ease the suffering of civilians and displaced persons. The amount of rain that fell on the city since last night until now has reached about 60 mm, equivalent to about 15% of the annual average. Accumulation of water and flooding in some areas is associated with unprecedented destruction of infrastructure and facilities, in addition to the lack of machinery, equipment and adequate shelter provision, which limits their ability to cope with the consequences of the rain. - We renew our appeal to international institutions and the parties concerned for the need to intervene urgently, and to provide the necessary needs, to limit the effects of the humanitarian disaster experienced by the city and to improve the ability of its teams to respond in the field.
