Hamas movement:
World Teachers' Day falls on October 5, while the occupation's crimes against education continue in Palestine, following three years of educational and cultural genocide.
The fascist occupation government has destroyed more than 90% of school and university infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, killed more than 1,050 male and female teachers, and continues to target, pursue, harass, and kill teachers in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
The escalation of these crimes requires the international community and relevant institutions to criminalize and stop them, support the educational sector, provide means for the continuation of educational drones, and support our people's right to education.
We honor the male and female teachers and their role in our people's struggle, and salute them for fulfilling their mission despite the consequences of the genocidal war, the lack of capabilities, and the escalation of the occupation's crimes and violations. - We affirm that Israeli attempts against education and its curricula and targeting educational institutions in Jerusalem will not erase their Arab and Islamic identity, or undermine the generation's adherence to them and its defense of them.
We call on Arab and Islamic countries and the free people of the world to act to protect and support the education system in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and to create humanitarian and material conditions, a safe environment, and the necessary alternatives for the continuation of education and the thwarting of the occupation's objectives.
- We have mercy on the souls of the martyred teachers and the martyrs of our people, and ask God for healing for the wounded and sick, and freedom for the prisoners and detainees in the occupation's prisons.
