Palestine Center for the Study of Prisoners:
▪️ The occupation still detains over 43 prisoners from Gaza despite the end of their sentences, which make up about 55% of the prisoners in the Gaza Strip who were arrested before the war.
▪️ We warn against the difficult conditions experienced by prisoners in Gaza, including torture, oppression, hunger, medical neglect and the denial of the most basic human rights.
▪️ We consider the occupation responsible for the continued detention of prisoners after the end of their sentence, and consider this a policy of revenge and collective punishment against the residents of Gaza.
▪️ We call on the international human rights institutions to intervene and exert real pressure to release prisoners from Gaza who have completed their sentences, as there is no justification for their continued detention.
