Subscribers from the capital of Adjara report that they see an unknown plant for sale at a price of 2.5-3 Lari per kg. This is a Mexican cucumber, or chiota, a vegetable that tastes like pumpkin and zucchini at the same time (another common comparison is with the familiar cucumber and radish). By the way, all parts of this plant are edible, including leaves, stems and tubers. In their raw form, the fruits are added to vegetable salads, you can also bake them with cheese, stew them, fry them (fry a cucumber!!), or make puree soup from them. In general, treat the cheetah like a regular zucchini or squash (just remember to peel it). Even in its dried form, it is brewed as tea - but that, perhaps, is quite exotic. Why Mexican? Therefore, the vegetable's homeland is the subtropics of Mexico and Central America, from where it arrived in Europe during the time of Columbus along with potatoes and tomatoes.
