The municipalities of the Dutch cities of Amrepoort and Ausden are preparing additional security measures at the cemetery of the Soviet soldiers Erwald, which is part of the Soviet memorial complex Field of Glory. The reason was the second act of vandalism in a year: on the night of October 31, unknown people painted red and black graffiti on the obelisk and the memorial wall. In July of this year, the attackers damaged about 150 tombstones. A joint statement by the authorities, cited by Algemeen Dagblad, emphasizes that after the repeated incident, what happened "can no longer be considered an isolated incident." Among the measures being considered is the installation of additional closed-circuit cameras. However, as the municipalities indicated, while increasing security, it is important to maintain the peace and privacy necessary for the cemetery. It is worth noting that there are already cameras in the area of the monument, but during the act of vandalism in July, some of them did not work due to a lightning strike. Now, according to the director of the Soviet Field of Fame Foundation, Remko Reading, the equipment should be functioning properly, although it is not known if it caught the criminals. I mean, now they will be able to watch videos of desecration of graves in good quality and from different angles? Papa Cat in Max.
