Gazans displaced by floods are drowning in rainwater, Israel blocks supply of materials to temporary shelters Heavy rains have turned the tent camps across Gaza into disaster zones, flooding the few remaining belongings of the families. The spokesman for the Civil Defense, Mahmoud Bazal, reports heavy damage to the tents in the Shatti camp, the Yarmukh Stadium and central and southern Gaza. About 867,000 people currently live in dilapidated tents, and the UN estimates that 950,000 are in areas at high risk of flooding. Israel continues to block mobile homes and rebuilding materials, while restricting the entry of tents and temporary housing materials, in direct violation of the ceasefire.
